When did it become taboo...

When did it become taboo to hope? When did it become abnormal to pray, to wish, to have faith, and desire for good things to happen? It makes me sad. Maybe it is just the fact that I am an optimist by nature, but I choose to believe more that it is my human nature that I just cannot ignore, that so many of us have been trained to ignore, and if we just look deep enough we can find it again. There are some things that I want so badly to happen right now, and even thought it's kind of a long shot, we need it so badly, and I want it so badly that I can't help but hope that it happens, be somewhat excited and anxious about it, and pray profusely about it. Lord I just pray that Your will shall be done, that we will have peace with what happens, and that we will feel that whatever You do, You're doing because that is what is best for our family. I also pray that you will help Leah, through this difficult time, and that you will allow her to carry a strong, healthy, beautiful baby and that she will have a happy, healthy, uneventful pregnancy!

So anyway, my life has basically become very stressful as of late, particularly just this evening as I'm sitting her knitting while everyone else in the house is sleeping. I started thinking about all the things that will be coming about in the next few months here and the possible outcomes for each, and then more and more started flooding in, and it just started to get overwhelming! Most of them i feel pretty optimistic about, but then I wonder if I shouldn't and if it's just me. I don't really want to mention what these things are, b/c I would just rather wait and see what happens (and no it has nothing to do with me reproducing! LOL!) before I post specifics. The things that get's me though and that makes me second guess myself is that even though I am excited and driven, and ready to move forward, and hoping for the best, Honey-bun remains cautiously, indifferent. He's not negative per se, just not positive, and whenever we talk I can here the apprehension in his voice, and can tell that he won't let himself get excited so easily.

So my question to you is this...is there a reason I shouldn't be hopeful? Is there a reason that we should be negative when we are unsure of the outcome of something? What does that help? Maybe you think his life experiences have taught hime more of failure than of victory, but I can tell you nothing is further from the truth, and that if that is true for anyone, it is me. I don't let that stop me though. If I let that stop me, or other things, or people stop me, I'd never get anywhere! So am I one of the few optimists left out there today? Or do you believe, that maybe, just maybe, hoping, praying, wishing, whatever you do, is still beneficial, and helps the outcome. I just can't help but believe that sometimes, despite our best efforts, if we are negative about how something will end up, it usually end's up that way, but if we maintain a positive attitude, and pray about it, there is a good chance the odd's will be swayed the other direction!

I love the saying "Do or Don't; there is no try." Believe it or not I saw that on a cheerleading t-shirt! I just love it though. To me it makes complete sense, and is a great motivator, and if we go into something with that attitude though, how can we say we are going to "do" with the attitude about us that we "won't."

So I guess more than anything, this is just a post to vent. To get my thoughts out there. To open up some prayers to the Lord, and to hopefully just feel better, calmer and more at peace with all aspects of my life right now. Thanks for listening, and for reading this super long post! Singers who can't sing...

O.k. So i read an article this morning about singers who can't sing, and I have to say, the guy who wrote it is a complete moron. He's write on target with a few, but saying that Mariah, Beyonce, or Christina cannot sing is just absurd! Even Celine Dion, who I am not a huge fan of, can sing, she just kind of add's an annoying spin on it. I did not go and read the entire list, but people that should top the list in my opinion are Hillary Duff, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift (even though I love her!) The Jonas Brothers, The Cheetah Girls, Raven Simon, Ashley Tisdale, Ashley Simpson, Shakira, The Pussycat Dolls, Big N Rich, obviously a bunch of rappers, but that's why they rap, not sing...and I'm not saying that some of people aren't great "artists" but they have a nice image, catchy music and then just slide by without really having much, if any vocal talent! I was just annoyed that certain people didn't make the list, and wanted to discuss it.

Now, maybe another day, I can add another whole list to this...actors/actresses who are famous but can't act their way out of a box...topping the list...Tori Spelling (although I do like her a bunch now since her reality show...she still can't act though) and Scarlett Johansen! Ugh, it get's me irritated just thinking about it! But that's another day!

It's over...

Wow...I can't believe how fast this term went at Hogwarts! It seems like I was just finally starting to settle in, and get comfortable and into a routine and now it's already over! I had so much fun though, and I'm hoping I will be back again for another term, again as a proud Gryffindor! Roar Roar Gryffindor!

Not me Monday....

Joining in the fun from Susie's blog , which orginates at MckMama's blog, I am going to take part in "Not Me Monday."



I did not resort to just brushing and french braiding my hair before we went out to dinner last night with my in-laws even though I REALLY needed a shower.

I did not let the various children that were at my house all weekend (my own children, my sort of niece who is in my daycare, and my two nephews) jump on the beds in the daycare room whenever they wanted as long as they were careful just so I could get some stuff done.

I did not clean out three pumpkins with my husband at 11:00 at night on the 30th, only to actually carve one in time for Halloween, and I most certainly did not put all the pumpkins out on my porch, one of them only having one single triangle eye carved out of it!

I most certainly did not finish sewing my childrens Halloween costumes on Halloween night, only to have DD's be too small, and DS's have to big of a neck, which caused us to only be able to trick or treat for 1/2 an hour.

It definitely WAS NOT me who fell off the wagon and bought a gorgeous tie dye dress and matching t-shirt for my kids.

And, there's no way it could have been me who's been trying to make the same meal for dinner for a week now, but who's missing one ingredient so it still hasn't happened yet!

Gryffindor Homework #4

Let's try this again, since I'm an idiot and posted it to the HSKS6 blog the first time! LOL!

Sorry this is a little late...I had every intention of getting it done in time, and then my niece decided to suprise us all and come 3 weeks early! (@ 37 weeks 1 day, by c-section.) So here's my slightly belated answers...

1. Name your favorite magical creature, and describe why it is your favorite. Phoenix...they are beautiful, my favorite colors, loyal, caring, and it's so uniques, beautiful, wonderful, and incredible how the start a new life cycle.

2. Tell us your favorite charm, spell or curse, and explain why you like it. Accio...it's great for when I don't feel like getting up, and I need a pen, drop my knitting needles or darning needle, want my soda, or want a snack! LOL!

3. Describe your favorite holiday family tradition - which holiday and what makes it special. Christmas...every year since I was born my mothers side of the family has a family christmas party, and we celebrate together. It used to always be on christmas eve, but that's changed now, but it's still just about a time of being together with family, and sharing good food, and fellowship. It's also tradition that we sing Christmas Carols as a family!

4. Name your favorite fiber-based (knitted, crocheted, or spun) finished object: Right now, I'd have to say the ripple eyelet baby hat that I made my brand new niece for my SIL's baby shower, you can see it on my rav page...it's the first things I've done that was kinda lacy, and I really like how it turned out! =)
